Association of Scrap Metal Traders and Processing Companies of Hungary

Secondary metal resources play a significant role in the supply of raw materials to the industry at the end of the 20th Century. This is especially true for Hungarian raw material supply poor is natural resources. During the past Decade the multi member group of the Hungarian secondary industry - scrap collectors, traders and processors - operating under market conditions reshaped and formulated the METAL ASSOCIATION in 1994, in order to enforce and integrate the interests of the respective members and to improve the level of the management of secondary resources and the related professional activities.

The economic organizations gathered by the METAL ASSOCIATION - having a dominant role on the domestic market - exert their activities in two sections, namely:

In the Section of Metal Traders and
In the Section of Metal Processing.

The essential target of the members congregated in the organization is to utilize metal scrap to an ever higher rate, to promote up-to-date recycling technologies and to achieve all these with lowering the environmental pollution to a possible minimum, in accordance with the National Environmental Protection Program.

The members of the METAL ASSOCIATION - by integrating their respective professional and economic skills and tightly cooperating with the relevant ministries (Ministry for Economy, Ministry for Environmental Protection, Ministry of Internal Affairs) - contribute to ensure the provision of a professional and controlling background for legislation and to elaborate rules and regulations that provide for the legislative operation of the players of economy.

The member organizations represent this significant branch of national economy spreading from the Western part of the country (Mosonmagyaróvár) to the Eastern regions (Nyírbogát) that have to join up establishing an appropriate overview of the regional and countrywide problems.

As a member of the Hungarian Foundry Association (foundry@t-online.hu) (MÖSZ) we maintain a close professional relationship with domestic foundry companies utilizing secondary copper and aluminium to the highest rate.
